Vanilla Milkshake I

Ingredients
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
1. In a blender, combine ice cream, milk and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Thick Chocolate Shake

Ingredients
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup powdered chocolate drink mix
1 teaspoon powdered egg whites

Directions
1. In a blender, combine the ice cream, milk, chocolate drink mix and powdered egg whites. Cover, and blend until smooth. You may need to stop and stir once or twice to get it evenly mixed. The shake will be very thick.

Blueberry Smoothies

Ingredients
1 cup frozen organic blueberries
1/2 cup vanilla soymilk or fat-free (skim) milk
1 container (6 oz) French vanilla yogurt
Honey, if desired

Directions
1. In blender, place blueberries, soymilk and yogurt. Cover; blend on high speed about 1 minute or until smooth. Sweeten to taste with honey.

2. Pour into 2 glasses. Serve immediately.

Iced Coffee Smoothie like Starbuck’s Frappuccino

Ingredients
3 oz. hot espresso*
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups milk – low-fat okay
1 Tbls. instant pudding mix (your choice of flavor)
1 cup ice cubes 

Directions
1. Stir sugar into espresso; cool mixture.

2. Stir milk and pudding mix into espresso mixture.

3. Fill a glass with ice and either serve mixture over ice, or pour glass contents into blender and frappe for 30-45 seconds. 

* No espresso? Use coffee that has been run through coffee maker twice.

Variations
Mocha: Add 1 pinch cocoa powder.
Chocolate Brownie: Add 1 pinch cocoa powder and 2 Tbls. chocolate chips.
Orange Mocha: Add 1 pinch cocoa powder and 2 Tbls. orange chocolate chips.
Rumbuh: Add 2 Tbls. crushed chocolate cookies.

Almond Banana Smoothies

Ingredients
2 large ripe bananas, peeled, sliced
2 cups almond milk or whole milk
2 cups ice cubes
2 tablespoons (packed) golden brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ground nutmeg

Directions
1. Blend first 5 ingredients in blender until smooth. Divide smoothies among 4 small glasses. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.

1 C. vanilla-flavored fat-free soy milk or 1/2 C. vanilla yogurt plus 1/2 C. skim milk 
1/2 frozen banana 
1 C. frozen fruit: strawberries, blueberries, peaches, melon etc. 
1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)

Directions
1. Place the soy milk (or yogurt/skim milk) and banana in a blender and mix until smooth. Add the frozen fruit and blend until smooth.
